The flexible event area, which consists of three halls, a reception area and various ancillary areas, is air-conditioned, equipped with high-quality sound and lighting systems as well as an approx. 8 m² video wall and creates the optimal, individually designed space for every type of event. The object was realised with the architect team Söhne & Partner, who is known for its innovative room conceptions. On an area of more than 1,200 m², an extraordinary event venue was built in a prime location in Vienna's 1st district.
The original use was the source of inspiration for the design of the Palais Wertheim. The main feature of the halls is a grid-like structure, which partly transitions into the vertical in the main hall, the Wertheim Hall. This vertical wall (concrete mesh) separates the access area from the common area and at the same time acts as the "signature piece" of the venue. Their brutalistic design (the origin of the name is, inter alia, in the French term béton brut ["raw concrete"], which refers to a key defining feature of the style, namely the material visibility of the building) that is in contradiction to the interior design, of curtains, padded seating furniture and generous mirrors.
